Hello all, Colin here...
I hope you’re all prepared for Christmas and that life is treating you well!
This post has a bit of a personal tone to it, as it relates to a bit of a vanity project I’ve been working on.
I’ve compiled a compilation of stuff I’ve written about Watford Football Club over mostly the past 25 years. If you’ve read YBR!, the Watford Treasury and our books, most of it you’ll have read already. If you go back to The Yellow Experience, Look at the Stars and You are my Watford as well… you’ll have seen it all!
It’s called Modern Life is Rubbish. I produced it as a personal keepsake, plus a present for a handful of loved ones. It was only meant to have a print run of 15 books. But, as it’s in the style of one of the Treasury hardback books, and to be honest is quite a good product, weighting in at 288 full-colour pages, I know some of you may be interested.
Like I say, none of it will be original, some of it has cropped up more than once already, this is NOT new material, some things are out of date, and some bits are meaningful only to me! I have added notes to each piece giving context or comment, so hopefully all will make sense!
If I say so myself, it is a nice look into how a 60-something man sees football, and in some cases life.
Modern Life is Rubbish will not be on sale through the Hornets Shop or our website. But if anyone would like a copy I will be happy to get extra copies printed at cost price (plus postage and packing) This would be £15 per book and postage at UK of £4.40.
The books will be printed very early new year, but at this stage I’d like to know how many we need to get printed.
By their very nature they will be a very limited edition (I envisage low dozens), and each copy numbered as such.
If you would like a copy, please email me at: ybr.colin@gmail.com with your name and how many copies you will want. Nearer to the date they come back we can sort a link for payment etc, but this is really to ascertain how many to print.
There is no legal obligation to buy if you reply, but I would ask that you do only if you intend to buy one as the books will be produced according to this! Please could you let me know if you do want one by the 13 December.
Many thanks for your time reading this, and hopefully some you may have your interests piqued!
An early Merry Christmas
Colin
